Dogma Catholicism vs Judaism : Episode 7
In the last episode, we discussed that Abraham is the father of Judaism, Catholicism, and Islam. Judaism was founded by Abraham. Catholicism was founded by Constantine the Great of Rome and not by Christ. Judaism worships only one God and does not believe in Christ. Catholics worship many gods and Jesus. In Judaism, being kind is enough even if you do not worship God. In Catholicism, no matter how many times you are bad, as long as you repent in the end and surrender yourself to God, that’s okay, God will forgive you.
Now, we will continue with part 2 of our discussion on the doctrines of Catholicism vs. Judaism.
*Judaism believes in the coming of the messiah who is an ordinary person, like you or me, not divine. ~In Christianity, the Messiah is divine. It is Jesus.
The word messiah comes from the Hebrew equivalent of “anointed.” This anointing is given only to monarchs or ancient messiahs.
In Judaism, the Messiah represents a person with special talents or the will of God’s goodness. The messiah is also described as someone who helps others, volunteers, and does good deeds. Regardless of the messiah’s personality, one thing is certain - he is a human, not divine.
In Christianity, the messiah is a divine person, who will come from heaven, became human on earth in the form of Jesus Christ.
*Judaism is always concerned with the welfare of the world and its future generations.
~Christianity is always concerned with rewards from God, such as going to heaven if they are good or to hell if they are bad.

~Christianity is always concerned with rewards from God, such as going to heaven if they are good or to hell if they are bad.
Christians believe that if you give a large donation to the church, you will go to heaven. That’s why we have many fundamentalist Christians asking for donations on buses and streets because they think that if they collect a lot of alms, God will favor them and they will go to heaven.
*Christianity believes in salvation. This means that Christians will be saved from their sins when Jesus comes to earth. I thought he already came.
~Judaism has no such belief. They do not believe in salvation or revelation. They believe in redemption. They believe that God will forgive them and their sins if they return to God with sincere repentance. That’s it.
*Judaism does not believe in heaven and hell.
~Christianity believes in heaven and hell. They can even describe the physical heaven and hell.
*Judaism believes that Satan is merely a symbol of evil and nothing more.
~Christianity believes that Satan is a “physical” being like God.
Judaism does not believe that Satan has power over humans, because everything is under God’s control and nothing else. Only God’s power exists and nothing else.
If the New Testament had not been added to the Old Testament, the idea of sin would not exist. Judaism believes that a person can be good or bad. However, they do not believe that a person is inherently sinful. They believe that if a person does wrong against another person, they are forgiven by God if they are forgiven by the people they wronged. If they do wrong against God, such as believing in Jesus Christ or other gods, they are forgiven by God simply by returning to God with a sincere conscience and genuine belief.
Remember, the Old Testament was only added to the New Testament to complete the account of the coming of the messiah named Jesus. Jesus is not recognized by Judaism as a messiah.
