Atheista ng Pilipinas Podcast : Episode 1

The advocacy and goals of Atheista ng Pilipinas (Atheists of the Philippines) encompass several important aspects:

1. Voice of Atheism in the Philippines: Atheista ng Pilipinas aims to be the voice of atheism in the country by uniting atheists, agnostics, and non-conformists. We come together under the banner of the “Samahang Internasyonal Koalisiyon ng mga Atheista ng Pilipinas” (SIKAP), advocating for rational thought and critical inquiry.

2. Challenging Misguided Beliefs: The organization seeks to correct misconceptions about the existence of God and address inaccuracies found in religious texts, including the Bible.

3. Countering Indoctrination: Atheista ng Pilipinas opposes the gradual indoctrination imposed on unsuspecting citizens by organized religious institutions. We encourage critical thinking and awareness.

4. Equal Teaching of Different Beliefs: The group advocates for equal treatment in education regarding various belief systems. We believe that individuals should have the right to follow their own beliefs without hindrance from educational institutions, the government, or even religious institutions.

5. Secular Symbols in Government: Atheista ng Pilipinas argues that religious symbols such as crosses, rosaries, or Bibles should not be prominently displayed in government branches or public money. If such symbols are allowed, all different religions in the Philippines should have the same right to display their symbols.

6. Standardized Education on Religions: The organization proposes creating a standardized book that teaches the history and ideologies of various religions, including Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. These books would be used in schools across the Philippines, allowing every Filipino student to learn about different beliefs and understand the nuances of faith.

7. Localized and Critical Thinking: Atheista ng Pilipinas encourages teachers to use their expertise to create culturally relevant materials and avoid foreign biases. They emphasize the importance of critical thinking and ensuring that accurate information is conveyed to the Filipino population.

8. Research and Development (R&D): Advocating for making R&D mandatory in educational institutions is the CORE of Atheista ng Pilipinas. By doing so, our country can reduce dependence on other nations’ markets. Specializing in R&D within colleges and universities would benefit our citizens by creating locally developed products and services, ultimately contributing to the progress of the Philippines.

9. Language of Instruction: Tagalog should be the primary language taught in schools nationwide, while native dialects from provinces as secondary. English and other foreign languages or dialects should be reserved for higher education levels, such as  colleges, universities, and trade schools. This approach promotes better understanding, faster production, and overall development.

10. Self-Reliance and Critical Thinking: Above all, nurturing self-reliance and fostering critical thinking skills in our youth should be a priority for the government. A balanced and open-minded education system will lead to truth and intellectual growth among our young citizens.

Furthermore, the pointless wasting of time and effort by our fellow countrymen due to misguided beliefs should be eradicated and forgotten. Our country’s progress would be happier and faster if the divisive belief in God were set aside, for the following reasons:

a) First, instead of individuals becoming self-reliant, they often prefer to place all their talents and abilities in the hands of a deity. If they don’t succeed in life, their reasoning is always: ‘This is what God wants for me, and I can’t do anything about it.’

b) Second, rather than Filipinos striving to lift themselves out of poverty, they frequently say: ‘If this is what God wants for me, who am I to go against it?’

c) Third, instead of Filipinos excelling in their arts, passions, or skills, they set these aside with the thought: ‘Hmm…if this isn’t meant for me, I know God has a better plan.’

d) Fourth, without religion, the Philippines wouldn’t be divided solely based on belief.

e) Fifth, if the church doesn’t interfere with the government and vice versa, the political culture in the Philippines could improve and change.

In summary, Atheista ng Pilipinas strives to promote rationality, secularism, and informed decision-making while respecting individual rights and cultural diversity.

Remember, life is incredibly beautiful and joyful. Everything you desire in life can be yours if you think and act wisely. Waiting for God alone won’t lead to a life without hardship; that's the truth. You are the captain of your life!

Be diligent, industrious, and wise in life, and you’ll achieve the prosperity and joy you aspire to in your journey!
